3 Tips To Get Motivated

Do you ever just not want to workout. Like maybe you have been doing so good(whatever that means). You've been getting a good night sleep, waking up early, eating well-balanced meals, but somewhere along the way, you just stopped. You grab another pint of ice cream and wallow in the fact that you missed yet another workout. We've all been there. I know I'm definitely guilty of it. But how do we get out of this rut and back into the groove of things?

Here are a couple of tips that I personally use to get out of the slump seasons!

1. Eat One Healthy Meal

- I know in my case, if I am eating healthy, I am more motivated to exercise. I hear a lot of, "I exercise so I can eat whatever I want," which is a very toxic way of looking at things, but anyway... When I eat that first healthy meal after being on a week long binger, I just feel so much better! Take that literally. My body feels fueled and powerful! I don't feel all gross and like I have lost all of my strength anymore! You have to start somewhere right?!

2. Buy New Workout Gear

- I love clothes. My poor husband. Clothes, especially the workout kind, can get expensive but, I bring good news! If you just buy one piece of workout gear it's not as bad. At least that's what I tell myself as I swipe that card yet again. (facepalm) On the real though, having that new fitness piece added to my ever-growing collection of pretty active wear just makes me want to try it out! So ask your husbands nicely, then go buy that beautiful new sports bra!

3. Grab A Buddy!

- Some people like to workout alone. Some like a big group of people. I could go either way, but when it comes to getting back into the groove of things, I love having someone to talk to, motivate, and encourage me to be the best I can be! My go to people are my husband and mother-in-law. I know that is foreign to a lot of people because of the stereotyped Moms-in-Law, but I was blessed with the best, who also quite enjoys taking care of her body. So it works out! Literally!

I know it can be daunting. Maybe you have been in a slump for a week, maybe a month. Maybe you have never even made it through a complete workout sesh, but no matter what your story is, you can start today. Really, it is night as I'm typing this, but either way, the point is to start. Write down your goals if you have to. Tell someone about them! You decide your life and how you live it. So choose to live it healthy and whole!
