Nervously Empowered To Courageously Motivated

Wow, that's a lot of big words. Powerful words.

All of you probably have a set of guidelines, or let's just say the code of conduct you live by. Well, the title of this post is mine. God gave it to me quite a while ago when I was asked to sing at my local church as a teenager. I knew I had a decent voice so I wasn't necessarily worried about how I was going to sound, I was just genuinely afraid to be on stage in front of people.

I have never been a confident public speaker. Even in grade school I remember almost freaking out when I was called on by the teacher to answer a question aloud. Eh, just gave me the heebie-jeebies! I hope you all have heard that saying before otherwise I probably sound like a total weirdo. oh well...

So anywho... I was to sing in front of a lot of people. The nerves kicked in overdrive. I was this close ( ) to backing out. Like my illustration ( )...

Nervous: anxious or apprehensive Empowered: stronger and more confident Courageous: not deterred by danger or pain Motivated: interest or enthusiasm for doing something

This is what nervously empowered to courageously motivated means to me...

Instead of letting your nervousness drive you in fear away from things you want or may need to do, let them instead empower you towards the things that scare you. Let your nerves actually motivate you to do the unexpected! Be confident in all your endeavors and be your best self in all things!

It is time to stop waiting for someone else to push you to make that big step. Push yourself. No excuses. You got this.
